Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 28, 2026

This policy explains what information the Cosmic Budgeting iOS app ("the app", "we", "us") handles, where it is kept, and your choices. The app is operated by Kunal Singh.

The short version

• Cosmic Budgeting has no accounts and no login.
• Everything you tell the app stays on your device. We do not run servers that receive it.
• We do not link bank accounts, use Plaid, or access transactions, purchase history or card data.
• We do not use advertising, tracking or third-party analytics tools.
• Subscriptions are billed by Apple. Subscription status is managed with our subscription service provider, RevenueCat, using an anonymous ID (details below).
• Deleting the app deletes your data.

Information you give the app

To personalize your readings, the app asks for:

• Birth date (day, month and year). It is used only to work out your sun sign. We do not ask for birth time or birthplace.
• Financial goals you choose, such as saving or paying off debt. These are simple preference tags, not financial data.
• Spending style you choose, such as "Mindful Spender".
• Mood check-ins, if you choose to tap one on the Today screen.

You can change your birth date, goals and spending style at any time in Settings.

Information the app creates

• Your readings and history. Each day's reading, the celestial event it was based on, and any mood you selected are saved so you can revisit them in History and so the app avoids repeating itself.
• Your streak and notification preferences.
• A random identifier generated on your device. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID or device advertising identifier, and it is not sent anywhere.

Where your information is stored

All of the information above is stored only on your device, inside the app's private storage, protected by iOS data protection. The app does not send it to us or to anyone else.

If you use iCloud Backup or back up your device to a computer, iOS may include the app's data in that backup. Those backups are managed by Apple and by you, not by us.

What we do not collect

• No bank or financial account connections, no Plaid, no transaction or purchase data.
• No name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location or health data.
• No advertising identifiers, no cross-app tracking, no data brokers.
• No third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. The only third-party software in the app is RevenueCat, used solely for subscriptions.

Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment information under Apple's privacy policy. We never see your card details.

To manage subscriptions (checking whether your subscription or free trial is active, restoring purchases, and handling renewals and cancellations), the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service provider. RevenueCat receives:

• a random, anonymous app user ID created by RevenueCat's software on your device. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID;
• purchase information from the App Store for this app, such as the plan, price, currency, purchase and expiration dates, and transaction identifiers; and
• basic technical information needed to provide the service, such as app version, device platform and OS version, locale, and the IP address that any internet request carries.

RevenueCat does not receive your birth date, sun sign, goals, spending style, mood check-ins or readings. We use this subscription information only to provide and support subscriptions and to understand aggregate subscription performance (for example, how many trials convert). It is not used for advertising or tracking. RevenueCat processes it on our behalf under its privacy policy (revenuecat.com/privacy).

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules them on your device for real celestial events and, during a free trial, reminders before the trial ends. They are generated locally; no notification content is sent from our servers. You can change this at any time in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings.

When you open a notification or use features in the app, the app may record a short event name (for example, "notification_opened") in your device's system log for troubleshooting. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.

Diagnostics

The app includes no crash-reporting service. If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized crash and usage statistics under Apple's own terms.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your information for advertising. Subscription information is processed by RevenueCat on our behalf as described above. When you use "Share" or "Copy Link", the app creates an image or a line of text on your device and passes it to the destination you choose, such as a messaging or social app. What happens next is governed by that service.

Data retention and deletion

Your information stays on your device until you delete it:

• Change it: edit your birth date, goals or spending style in Settings.
• Delete it: delete the app from your device. This removes everything the app stored. Because we hold no copy of your personal inputs, there is nothing further to delete on our side. To ask for your anonymous subscription records at RevenueCat to be deleted, contact us.

Deleting the app does not cancel an App Store subscription. See the Refund & Cancellation policy.

Security

Your data is stored in the app's sandboxed storage and protected by iOS encryption and data protection. The information you enter is never sent off your device; subscription information sent to RevenueCat travels over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.

Children's privacy

Cosmic Budgeting is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The information entered in the app never leaves the device.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (including California under the CCPA/CPRA, and the EU/UK under the GDPR), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or restrict use of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because the information you enter stays on your device, you can exercise these rights directly:

• Access: view your data in the app.
• Correction: edit it in Settings.
• Deletion: delete the app. For the anonymous subscription records held by RevenueCat, email us and we'll have them deleted.

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. For any privacy question, contact us below.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling information differently (for example, if we add an account system, cloud sync or analytics), we will update this policy before that change takes effect and update the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
